EF AJJ Week 8

It's taken so long to do this one as it was hard to decide on just the one thing.
In the end it had to be my health.
Everyone that lives with a chronic illness knows what it can be like. Sometimes you hate every twinge just waiting to see if it turns into anything because you know that it will sometime. Going from being a healthy new mum one minute to being really ill with a small child and knowing that this is going to be there for the rest of your life. It can be a hard to handle.
You learn to live with it so you can control it not the other way round.
So I miss my Health.
Wouldn't you?

New bead and wish lish

I've got The Blues, the Dolly bead that is. A friend had brought it the other night but when she got it it didn't match the beads she already has so she has sold it to me. I'm so pleased and i should have it tomorrow. It's going to look fab with Purple Velvet.

Here are two silver Troll beads that are on my wish list. This first one is Mocha, this is for my love of coffee and namely starbucks coffee.
This second one is the letter B and it stands for my name.
I have a few others that i want as well. There is a Snake, thats because i was born in the year of the snake.
I want an Aeries one because thats for the month i was born in.
I could go on but i won't. I'm loving all these beads.

Flowers for mothers day

I was a very lucky mummy on Sunday and i got lots of flowers. I got these lovely tulips and this hydrangea silver troll bead from Dom (with help from his granny, thank you mother I love you lots). We went out to lunch and all the mums got given Orchids and this is mine. I just love it and it is next to my bed.
Sunday was a nice day. Dom woke me up with a card that he had made at school and then we got up and got ready to go out. We had to meet the family at the photographers to have a photo taken for mothers birthday (had to be now as we were all together for once). We got a few taken of us all. I have ordered one of just me and Dom which i think looks nice. Will be a while before we get them. I'm looking forward to it.

EF AJJ Week 10

This is week 10 Note to Self.
It says Enjoy Life live it to the full. Have fun and don't dwell on the past to much. Remember to have fun as well.

Doms Week 11

Dom saw the card that I've just done and said I want to do one, so we just have and here it is.
He choose all the colours himself. I inked the chipboard letters for him and glued them onto the card, two parts were inked first. He then did the doodles.
We are going to do more over Easter.

AJJ Week 11

Week Eleven is up an this week its Your Initial. I had an idea straight away and for once i done it on the day i saw the prompt. So here it is. For this I used Acetate and on that i used Hambly screen prints wings and crown. I inked a chipboard B with copper ink and then glued onto the Acetate.
The Acetate was stuck to a piece of black card using purple brads.
I'm really pleased with it.

Buddy bead

Dom is getting a bead for his birthday. This is a Buddie Bead from Mango beads. He just fell in love with it and hes really looking forward to getting it. He's going to wear it on a leather tong around his neck. I will have to make sure that he can't take it off and lose it. Enjoy it baby.

Flowers

Here is a picture of the present that i gave to my mum for mothers day yesterday. It is normal to have flowers for mothers day but they don't normally last that long. So i decided to make her some and here is the finished product.

Dollies

Yet more Dollies were loaded onto A Sting of Beads. I managed to get Cinder Toffee which you can see here and it is so lush. Jaq gets better and better with each batch.

The second Dolly here is The Blues which I just love but was too slow to get it. There was one last week so when i saw it this week I just knew that it was right as the bead for Dom on the bracelet. I'm going to place a special order for it in a week or so. I think it will look lovely sat next to Purple Velvet.
Roll on my birthday so they will all be on their own bracelet and on my wrist. They are going to look so good.

Hair cut

What do you think?
I've been wanting to get it done for ages but today was finally the day i had most of my hair cut off. I am so pleased with it.
I hate having my hair in my face so i was always wearing it in a ponytail, now I'll just wear it pushed back with a band (like in the photo).
I went into Claires accessories and brought some clips and a couple of Alice bands. I just know that I'll be wearing them all the time now.
I just need to dye it now. What colour should i go for?

Art Journal Journey

I am so behind in this. These are week nine and week four.

For week four A Symbol You Love i choose the Take That symbol as i loved them when they were around the first time, now they are back and better than ever. From Boy band to Man band.

Week Nine was Inspiration found
Emily Falconbridge Inspires me so that is what i put. I just love her work and her passion for it. Her work shows a bit of her in every bit. After meeting her last year I know that she just oozes talent and that its self is inspiring.

I'll take more photos so you can see them better

New Banner

Don't you just love it?
I have to say a really really really big thank you to Kirsty Wiseman who made this amazing banner for me.
I love it so much and it is so me.
She also did one for my Inspire Me blog.
It's great to know talented people.

Thank you again Kirsty

Art Journal Journey

Here is my week Five
I used the masking tape technique
Added netting and then the ephemera
I then wrote on a piece of masking tape and added it.

Its taken ages to get some ephemera that i could use for this. Then on Tuesday when i had to have a blood test the ticket seemed just right. At the hospital they run a ticket system so you know when its your turn. It just screamed at me to do something with it.

So another week is done.

My Dollies

Here are all my dollies in a line. Don't they look good together? They need some silver ones to go with them. My braclet is going to look fab

More Dolly Beads

Jaq uploaded more Dollies tonight on A String of Beads.
I was lucky to get these two Purple Velvet and Carolyn. Carolyn is a bead made especially for mothers day so quite a few were made. Purple velvet is a one off as normal. I do have to say that these are for my birthday next month. Mother will be looking after them till then for me.

Scrapbook Magazines

I have been scrapbooking for about six years give or take and when the first British magazine came out i was so excited. We have had

12 x 12 scrapbook magazine
Scrapbook Magic
Creative Scrapbooking
The Scrapbook Magazine (now without the The)
Scrapbook Inspirations

Now we only have the bottom two left.

We have lots of amazing talent in this country and its being ignored.
These magazines now seem to be catering for the beginner which is all very well as we all have to start somewhere. But what about the rest of us?
I want a magazine that makes me wow on most if not all the pages. I want to be inspired . I also want to be taught. This can't be too much to ask for. Yes we can see things online but its just not the same thing as having it in your hands at home. Sometimes you want to curl up with a magazine and have all that talent soak in.
The thing with a magazine is that you can pick it up every now and then when you have a few minutes or even when you have longer.
My favourite magazine was an American one called Scrapbook Answers as it was full wonderful articles and always had wonderful how to's. This has always been missing from the UK ones.

As it looks like we are never going to have the magazines that will cater for the experienced scrapbooker maybe we need to do something about it. The question is what.
Maybe we just have to suffer. Unless someone comes up with something.
Here's hoping we get what we want and not just second rate rubbish. Sorry I mean having it all done for beginners.
I'm not the best scrapbooker but I have been doing it a long time and I like some respect from the magazine publishers.

CWF

I had my crop on Saturday and it went really well so yesterday i booked the dates for the rest of the year. For all the details you can find them on the Cropping With Friends (CWF) Blog. I have uploaded the minibook to it as well.
For the past year i have been going to The Waterlooville Happyscrappers evening crop and it has been great. I have to announce that this crop is no more. Don't be sad this crop has moved venue and is now under the Cropping With Friends name as the evening crop. This means that there is CWF daytime and evening crops.
I'm on cloud nine about this right now. I know that this can only go from strength to strength.
I just need to design a logo for it that i can put on everything.

Happy Birthday sunshine

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Dom
8 years old today

I can't believe that my little boy is now 8. It doesn't seem that long ago that he was running around in a nappy. He has grown up so fast.
Today i took him to my Great Aunts to pick up a pressie then we went to MacDonalds for a treat. Cheeseburgers, chips, milkshake and icecream to eat. What more does a boy need?
