This is a test

I know a couple of people are having problems with blogger today so i'm just testing this.

new book

As i was cyber cropping this weekend and enjoying making exploding boxes i started playing with card stock. I have come with a new book called the "Bella book" (thanks to my mum for the name). As far as i know there is nothing like it out there. I will reveal all soon on the forum so keep you eyes peeled.

What i've been upto

Well this is what I've been doing this weekend (apart from the ATCs they are for a swap). I've been doing a cyber crop and I've really enjoyed it. There are still some i want to do so i best get to it. Just thought I'd let you into what I've been up to.This is an Ali Edwards scraplift

Christmas

I know it's early but i know what I'm doing for on Christmas day. For the first time I'm spending it in my own home. It's going to be just the two of us. We are going to spend the day in our pj's and do what we like. I know it's selfish but it's happening and no one is going to change it. I don't want to see anyone else on the day but i will answer the phone, emails and go on a couple of forums. At the moment i plan to do a roast for us but i may change my mind nearer the time.
There are some fab deserts in Aldi at the moment i think i may get a couple of those in for christmas.
I'm really looking forward to it.

Scrapmanic

On Saturday I'm going to Scrapmanic with my mum. This is a scrapping retreat, it has classes a shop and lots of like minded people. I'm really looking forward to this as I'll get to meet lots of online friends in real life. It's going to be brill.
At the moment I'm just deciding on whether to take anything to do in between classes. I'll have two classes on the Saturday and one on Sunday. They'll be lots of chatting and getting to know people, so will i have time? I'm really really looking forward to it.

While I'm at scrapmanic Dom will beat his grandads for the weekend, going Friday and coming home Sunday. He's counting down the days till he goes so i know that he's looking forward to it.

Armistice Day Celebrations in Toronto Canada - 1918

Armistice Day is the anniversary of the official end of World War I, November 11, 1918. It commemorates the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning — the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month." While this official date to mark the end of the war reflects the ceasefire on the Western Front, hostilities continued in other regions, especially across the former Russian Empire and in parts of the old Ottoman Empire.

The date was a national holiday in many of the former allied nations to allow people to commemorate those members of the armed forces who were killed during war. After World War II, it was changed to Veterans Day in the United States and to Remembrance Day in the Commonwealth of Nations. In many parts of the world, people take two minutes of silence at 11:00am as a sign of respect, as suggested by Edward George Honey in a letter to a British newspaper though Wellesley Tudor Pole established two ceremonial periods of remembrance based on events in 1917

Newsround

Having a child in the house i do watch a bit of kids TV. Today i saw Newsround and reported about an eight year old girl called Sophie that has leukaemia. Her blog is an inspiration to us all. So go and have a look at what she says. I know that I'll be checking it out regularly.

What have i done?

Ok I'll tell you.
I've started up my own forum. It's an Altered art forum and called No Place Like Home. If you like messing around with different materials come and join us. The paint is still drying and I'm still moving the furniture in but it is up and running. I am looking forward to this and seeing how it goes.

What have i got to say?
I've had a problem with my computer but hopefully it's sorted now.

As Tuesday was Halloween we went out "Trick or Treating". DS had fun and got a good haul this year.
At the weekend we went up to my mum's and made a gingerbread house. On Monday we turned it spooky and haunted. Now he can't wait to eat it.


One thing I'm about to do is knitting. I know a few people that have just taken it up and I'm going to have a go as well. I'm going to start with something easy, it's going to be a scarf for myself for winter. All i have to do is go and buy the wool. I'll let you now how i get on.
